Each meeting supports up to 25 participants for up to four hours from creation. Each Google account can host one active meeting at a time, suitable for small teams and discussions across locations.
Screen sharing and host controls
Share presentations or your screen. Hosts approve guests, appoint co-hosts and transfer hosting. Guests only need a meeting link and their name, with no account registration.
Meeting transcripts and AI notes
After the host enables transcription, participants may consent to capture their own speech. Captured audio is transcribed and summarized into key points, decisions and action items, with text records available to download.

How do I create or join an online meeting?
Hosts sign in with Google, select Start meeting and share the invitation link. Guests open the link, enter their name and request admission, which the host approves.
Are there participant or time limits?
Each meeting allows up to 25 participants and lasts up to four hours from its start, ending automatically at the deadline. Each account may host only one active meeting. This free service has no availability SLA.
Can I use a computer or phone?
Use a desktop or mobile browser with WebRTC support and allow microphone or camera access. Features such as screen sharing vary by browser and operating system.
Does transcription automatically capture everyone?
No. The host must enable it and each participant must consent. It covers only consenting speakers in the main room while this page is open, excluding breakout rooms and shared-screen audio. Muting, background operation or disconnections may cause gaps. Transcripts and AI notes require human review.
How long are records kept? Is cloud video recording available?
Cloud video recording is not provided. Transcripts and notes are accessible only to approved members and are automatically removed 24 hours after the meeting expires. Download needed records before then. Guests must retain their original browser session.
What permissions does Google sign-in request?
Only your account identifier, name and email are used for sign-in. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive or Calendar. See the privacy and service terms for data handling details.
